Early Detection to Minimize Vision Loss

Tailoring Management to Risk:

Early detection of patients at high risk of developing AMD provides the doctor an opportunity to be proactive and triage patients at highest risk in order to institute preventive measures before vision loss affects daily activities.

Prevent Vision loss with Early treatment:

When patients are monitored closely, many CNV lesions can be detected outside of the fovea and when they are relatively small. Early detection may lead to improved long-term visual acuity.

Intensifying Prevention:

Patients who normally present for treatment have lost visual acuity to a point (20/100 or worse) where the drug, even though effective, can’t reverse the disease enough to allow the individual to drive a car or read a book.
